Sound card wont instal on Computer

Hello Everyone.

I just got a new computer given to me by my nephew.

The computer is a HP ProLiant ML110 G6 & is used as a server at his company but im using it for a home computer.

It has 4 gigs of Ram & he added a good video card but it has no sound card. It has a slot but it wont take my sound cards I have. The Slot wont accept the cards, the configuration for them is reversed. Any Ideas?

If the slot won't accept, then you're done. I wouldn't recommend using a server for a desktop, the RAM is different, and might not work too well

Thanx for the replies.

I have it all set up & am using it online & for games & all is workin extremely well, just no sound so using it as a home computer isnt a problem yet.

I read elsewhere someone recommended using a usb soundcard for this model. i didnt know they had those so what do you all think on that?
do USB soundboards work without an on board soundcard?

It looks like it would slide in. i dont like the price but at least it shows there may be hope besides a USB type device.....

I found this on Ebay & it looks like it will fit. I also read eleswhere that a USB soundcard will work. This other fellow who has one said he bought a USC soundcard & it works. I didnt know they existed, so I guess I may try one of those, thanx for the replies......
