Laptop overheating

I got to thinking about this last night when the power was off, it could maybe be the thermal tape or paste has dried out and the thermal junction isn't making good contact.
If that's the case clean up the contact surfaces and spread on some AS5.
It could be that the maker of that model is short cutting on the thermal transfer medium.

So here's what happened. I took apart the entire thing, and blew out all the dust with some compressed air (Supplied through a gentle air compressor I have, so as to not knock any of the parts loose). I was still hitting pretty high temps. So I just said "screw it", bought a replacement fan and some thermal grease of off Amazon, and completely redid everything. Brand new thermal grease, brand new fan, and completely clean.

I don't know if posting on older threads is generally allowed here, but I have a quick update.
I updated the OS to Windows 7 64-bit (previous being Windows Vista 32-bit). Things are running a bit warmer, but nothing to worry about. I am hitting these temps playing Mincraft, after having the laptop running for two days http://i.imgur.com/98wkhgX.png
This fan seems to be tricky. The temps rose to about 93 degrees Celsius while I was playing, but then the fan seemed to kick into overdrive (It was noticeably louder) and cooled down to a nice 75-80C.
I'm hoping this can aid someone else who has an issue similar to mine
