I use Win 7 mostly. If we're counting mobile OS's, Android as well.

I would go for Windows 7..

I would say there is no reason not to go with Windows 8 either.

Decide what OS is bets for you.

I am still on Ubuntu 12.10 and I have learned so much more about commands and having that much control makes using win 7 on my laptop like wearing handcuffs. IMHO windows in the enthusiast sector is dying or dead. We have total control and it's free.

Use XP at work because the software runs on it. Sad...
Vista on my Core2Duo laptop.
Win7 Home Premium on my G7 laptop.
Win7 Ultimate on my desk system.
Knoppix 7 on a thumb drive that runs on any of my rigs.
