Lost Power Supply Icon

Suddenly, I have lost the small power supply icon from the bar at the bottom right on the computer screen. I still see the internet access strength bars and other icons but the power supply icon is gone. What could have happened? Now, I don't know the power remaining. Luckily, the charge light comes on when I use the AC Adapter. How can I restore this icon? Thanks. I have an Acer laptop using Windows 7.

Go into the control panel, Then search for notification area icons and click the heading and scroll down the list until you find the battery icon and select show icons and notifications from the drop down menu and it should appear again.
