type of computer??

Hello there,I'm looking to get a computer,but idk if I want a laptop or a desktop..and I'm also wondering if I could build one or just buy one. I will mostly use it for research,also some gaming every now and then(would still like it to be able to run games nicely,WOW,runescape,etc). I'm sorta leaning towards laptop so I can take it every where. But I am Worried about gaming abilities.

If you had the money I would build as it can be cheaper and much better than one you buy from a shop.

Well how much money? I'm trying to stay under a 1000 U.S dollars.

You can certainly stay under that price. What will the computer be primarily used for?

Probably a MMO every day or so,google searching,browsing. Things of that nature.

So a mid-end or just high-end would do?
Something like an I3 and a GTX 500 or a similiar AMD?

If you want mobility, of course a laptop is your only choice. I would look for something with an intel i5, 8GB of RAM, a nice video card, and a good size hard drive. Now, if you can get away with a desktop, you can build a computer with MUCH more power for cheaper than what you would pay for a laptop. It depends on your needs.
