Compaq Presario CQ61 battery problem

I have a compaq laptop that will not charge.

Windows says plugged in, not charging.

I have tried the power driver uninstall in device manager but that hasnt helped.

When i put the power cord in (when the computer is off) the battery charging light blinks 3 short and one long then goes off.

The adapter is not original and i think this might be the problem.

Does anyone know what 3 short and one long blink code is ?
