I see no reason why you have to get an Intel CPU. If you are trying to save money, you can go with AMD.
As far as waiting or buying now....there's always going to be something worth waiting for and there's always going to be something that comes out right after you buy your parts. That's just how the computer world works. Find something that will work for you and pull the trigger.
Here's something just for fun. You've never really named a budget, but I went as cheap as I thought I could. No HDD (you said you had one) and no Vid Card.
PCPartPicker part list
CPU: Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor ($113.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock H77M Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($58.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Antec One ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($17.98 @ Outlet PC)
Total: $355.93
