Z75 or Z77 for OC on a budget

I am building a PC for gaming. I am using a Radeon HD 7870 and an Intel Core i5-3470. I am currently planning on buying a Z75 mobo. but I also want to OC the i5 to 4.0+gHz (with hyper 212+ cooler) and the graphics card to something a bit higher than stock.

I am just wondering if it's possible to OC with a Z75 board, and what the difference is between a Z75 and a Z77 (i'm not doing SLI/Crossfire or in need of SSD auto-caching)

Thanks!

The CPU chip has to have the K designation or it's locked. As for the board if the bios supports overclocking then with a K CPU chip you'll be good to go.
My motherboard is a Z77 based Intel product. With the K chip I can overclock it.
