One more thing,in my internet explorer it looks like there's no favorites,but when I go to create a new folder it says that one already exists...but where?

In your "Users" folder, in the sub-folder, under your name.

This should repair your favorites and the rest of the hidden files

Well it happened again,and this time I think it's for keeps. Tried all the above to no avail. Well at least it was only 2 years of pics and files gone instead of more
