I'm getting this Mobo for a build. it appears it only has 6Gb's sata ports but i have no drives that fast. does that i mean I'm sol till i get one

You'll be fine. SATA ports are backwards compatible so your SATA I/II drives will still work in the SATA III ports.

It's good to buy as much motherboard as you can afford since it is the foundation of your build. Future-proof as much as you can.
