Problem installing mobo driver/update

I got myself a really REALLY expensive new desktop computer ($3900) because i'm a video editor, VFX and 3D artist.

But for about two weeks ago my computer started to BSOD on me.
I have googled the BSOD error messages ever since this started to happen without any luck.

But then ASUS (I have a ASUS motherboard, "P9X79 LE") send me a email saying that I HAVE to update my mobo so that the BSOD stops.

So I clicked the link that they gave me
ASUS - - ASUS P9X79 LE
And downloaded the newest BIOS update (Version 3408)

But I was greeted with a "cap." file.
What the f@#% am I supposed to do with this?
Windows 8 does not know what the hell this file is. So again, I started to google, but even google does not know what a "cap." file is, there issn't even any "how to install" on ASUS website what-so-ever.

So this is my final resort, ask someone who hopefully knows how I can install this update so that I can enjoy my new computer and make some movies.

My system:
Intel® Core i7-3930K Processor 6-core
32GB RAM
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz 6GB GDDR5 (x2)

So please, someone, help

Actually I think this might be of more help:
Read here first: http://support.asus.com/Search/KDetail.aspx?SLanguage=en&no=CCBF53F7-9084-B397-C729-7C5579704573&t=2
And then here: How to Use USB BIOS Flashback - ASUS

For the record, I only skimmed the webpages, but they do seem to show you what you need to know. Also, just an FYI I googled "how to update bios asus cap file" and those are the first 2 websites that come up.

Here's the 3rd page that came up: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx...rd_id=1&model=P9X79+WS&page=1&SLanguage=en-us
