Working from two locations with same software

Hi,
I currently work from home using a desktop computer (Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2007) and I can connect to my head office network through the Internet. I would like to have the ability to work from another location at times but without having to lug my PC back and forth. Is there some kind of software or service that would allow me to buy another machine for the other location and copy/download all files and programs from the original desktop computer so I can work from the second location with everything I need?

There are a number of solutions for your predicament.

First would be to use a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Microsoft SkyDrive and just save the documents to the cloud.

Another is to use a remote desktop service such as LogMeIn or GoToMyPC.

Another way is only available if you use Windows XP Pro, Vista Business or Ultimate, 7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise, is to use the built in Remote Desktop Connection.
 
Be sure to look into Splashtop. Granted it is more for a desktop-mobile device situation, but it's definitely worth considering!
