Hi all. I am wanting to do a fresh install of Windows on my Acer Aspire RC900. I have created a bootable USB disk with windows 7 on it. I have tried looking around the bios settings to see if I can find the USB, I have tried putting different USB's in but they don't show up. The bios version is phoenix v6.00, I have tried finding an update but have not successfully found one. Would there be a setting that I need to turn on or change at all?

I know that its being picked up on start because it will say in the POST.

Yeah it will be something like [press F12 for Boot Order] it will show HDDs, Optical Drive and your other maybe USB, also depending on BIOS you may get another Boot List.

A lot of times it says removable device/media, then make sure you have bootable files in your flash drive.

Exactly which are the bootable files? Does one have to install Windows on the flash drive?

No Microsoft has there own tool for download so you can make a bootable version of windows 7 on a USB stick using an ISO image or with a DVD copy.
