Multiple HD Failures... Bad luck or underlying issue?

I had an old system that ate a lot of drives, and I think it was the power supply in that instance no reason not to get one that's over-specced for your current needs.
I know there is a huge reliability issue with the raptor drives. I think it's limited to the 74gb model they used to sell, though. I had two of them die within a month or two of first being installed. I installed a cooler on the latest one and it is still alive after 2 years, though it seems to struggle more than any 7200 rpm drive I've had in there, and I recently got a message that some operation or other couldn't be completed as the hard-drive was possibly beginning to fail.

I'll definitely look into upgrading the PSU within the next month or so. It isn't an expensive part, and I sure can use the extra power. FWIW, I've always known that my current one was at or near its limit.

Also, hard drive cooling may be something to look into. My case (and my room) don't promote much air movement.
