Sometimes you just got to say WTF and go for it.

I'd rather have a hard drive than a floppy. A hard drive is bigger and lasts longer.

When you consider the mechanics it doesn't matter either would be pretty useless, sure one would be an impressive sight... But still unusable.

This. Even if it becomes feasible in a couple of decades to store data this way, I'd imagine the random access speeds would truly suck (since DNA is after all a sequence) and it wouldn't be useful as an everyday hard drive, only as a magnetic tape replacement.

I say it'll be here waaay soooner then a few decades...
