Hacked- what rights do i have?
My computer has been hacked. I have strong suspicions of who has done it and was wondering about the laws? They havent used my credit cards etc but gone through my email, social networking, deleting and adding as they please. All my browsers have been set to a certain homepage aswell. The computer itself is very slow and many programmes will not work and anti virus picked up a programme and removed it. It was my own name followed by .exe. Not sure if that has much to do with it or not?

You could have a legal field day with them as long as your willing to give a deposition of what brought all this on. As for who, you press charges of hacking with intent to inflict mental duress. And the old favorite, stalking.
But you need to be damn sure of who and why or it could blow up in your face.

Ohsnapword makes a good point. Malware will change your browser homepage long before a hacker would.
Be sure of what's on your system before you go pointing fingers.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

If I were to hack a person's computer, I would most certainly do everything I can to not leave a trace.

shmoks,

Can you let us know what Operating System you are using?
Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP?

Also, if you like, please run the following short scan, and post the results in your reply. It will show malware:

Please download RogueKiller:
Tlcharger RogueKiller (Site Officiel)
•When you get to the website, go to where it says:
(Download link) Lien de téléchargement:
rendu2.png

•Click the dark-blue button applicable to your system to download. (See Note)
•Save to the Desktop
•Close all windows and browsers
•XP: Double-click the program to run it
•Vista/Seven: Right-click and select 'Run as Administrator'
•Press: SCAN
•A report opens on the Desktop: RKreport.txt

Please provide the RKreport.txt (Mode: Scan) in your reply.

Note:
One of the RogueKiller downloads is for x-64 (64-bit system)

To find out if your system is 32 or 64 bit:
Click: Start
Type System in the Start Search box
Click System in the Programs list.

The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system, under System > System type, it shows:
64-bit Operating System

For a 32-bit version operating system, under System > System type, it shows:
32-bit Operating System

How do you know you were hacked and didn't catch a malware infection?

Thanks for the replies :) Im assuming I got hacked because only certain emails that apply to the person i suspect have gone missing.
Then again im quite computer illiterate and unsure what malware is?
Plus the 'virus' or programme or whatever it was was that antivirus removed was called my own name followed by .exe

Ive just discovered that my hacker has been logging into my facebook on an iphone 5. Is it possible to trace the number and take action?

Ok look you obviously have a problem that is beyond the scope of this forum.
Go to the cops. Tell them what you know and who you think it is. Let them handle it.
