What is your Broadband Speed ?

Your ping is how long it takes a signal to go from your computer to the server and back to you. Lower is better

@palermo what type of router are you using? if you're using G you're getting just about the maximum (non-theoretical) speeds the devices are capable of. If you're paying for that fast of internet you should look into getting a router with N band or AC band.

You're right. My router is N; however, my PCI-E card is G. What do you think of the USB wireless receivers, are they just as good as the PCI-E cards? When I upgrade I plan on getting the wireless built into the motherboard.

If you can wait till next year to upgrade the motherboard, i think 802.11ad will be released then, with higher speeds and 60ghz radios.

I use wired connections because they're the faster and more reliable than wireless for now. Even though my Internet speeds aren't too great, I do enough streaming (internally on my network) that higher bandwidth is great.

Edit: you should start a new thread for recommendations
