Put Desktop Size Hard Drive In Enclosure

Hi, I have some 500GB hard drives , I would like to be able to use one as a portable drive, I have looked at some that can do it..

Um, is there a question here? Yes, you put the hard drive in the enclosure to make it portable. Usually you will have to have a separate power source for desktop drives, though now there are some esata ports that provide power.

3.5" external enclosures do exist although they almost always require an external power source whereas 2.5" drives do not.

No. That lets you put a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" enclosure. Just read the description and it says this. You want something like this. Just search "3.5 hard drive enclosure" on whatever tech websites australia has. There should be a ton of them.

That's going to be slow as hell, but yes it is what you're looking for. Personally I'd go either usb 3 or esata.

I am not concerned about the speed, As long as it does what I want and need I am satisfied.
