Acer Aspire 3630 laptop

Hi, not sure if i`m posting in the right section,

I`ve got an Acer aspire 3630 with 80gb hdd, 1gb of memory, xp pro os
I just use it for browsing and playing dvds

My question is with xp running out April 2014 i thought about taking up the offer microsoft has on Windows 8 ( having used the customer and release preveiws) i tried it on the laptop its okish

i have tried a few linux distros but i`m having various problems with them.

is it worth upping the memory to 2 gb cost about £35 and getting win 8 for £25

or should i save my pennies and treat myself to a new laptop later next year,

I would upgrade to 2GB ram but I wouldn't go with Windows 8, I would go for Windows 7..

I would do both ... Ill explain babes, upgrade your Lappy and get Win 8 (total £60) use it and save your pennies then when you feel the time is right sell your upgraded Lappy and together with what you have saved get a shinny new PC

Yes what Wildcat has just said you could upgrade your current laptop or just wait until you have enough money and buy a better one..
