Help...

To me it is worth the extra 20 bucks. To you... i don't know.
It's still "balanced", other then most computers with that CPU usually have a better GPU and cooler. also the tends to have a slightly better Power supply.
Well, that GPU is previously generation mid end gaming card from AMD, so that will explain the price.
it's gonna do just fine for most games, but don't expect Crysis 2 on maximum graphics and still be running smoothly.

Is the build purely for gaming?
If it is you might want to go for a core i3 third generation to save money (not the one you had chosen) for a better GPU.
I am talking about this one: Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor (BX80637I33220) - PCPartPicker
it's slightly faster and have better power efficiency for only 4 bucks more.

Well a little editing ( sony vegas recording with bandicams most likely) of css and csgo and a game called crossfire( crappy game but fun) and gta5

no bf3

hmmm. if you are on a budget you might want to go with the core i3-3220 and throw in a better GPU. like the 6950, 6970, 560ti or the 570.

the way i see it you are gonna need both CPU power and GPU power. Video editing mostly uses CPU to render, and games are more GPU required. maybe if you can squize in an i5 and go for a 560ti or 6950

i don't know. what are you priority? gaming or editing?

By far gaming 90% of my time will be gaming and web surfing and the other 10% will be making montages

well then. a better GPU it is. again if you are on a budget, go for the i3, and used the money saved from going to an i5/i7 to a better GPU.

what ever you can afford. GTA 5 are gonna take a great deal of Video performance.

a 6950 are gonna be a great deal faster then your chosen 6870.

Is adding a Core i5 and a 6950 too much to ask for your budget?

haha. i see what you mean.
But you where the one bringing a core i5 into the budget at one point.
well in that case just go with the i3-3220 (Not the i3-2120 that is only 4 buck cheaper. that would be a shame)

well that card (the 7770) is also from the new series of AMD's Radeon lineup. it's almost equal to the 6850 which is 1 step high ranked in the previous generation so to speak. I found a benchmark where you can see the result on the 7770.
HIS Radeon HD 7770 iCooler Video Card | HIS,H777F1G2M,Radeon HD 7770,iCooler,Video Card,Graphics,Benchmarks,Performance,Review,Steven Iglesias-Hearst,HIS Radeon HD 7770 iCooler 1GB Video Card H777F1G2M Benchmark Graphics Performance Review by Steven
You will see that it is not gonna hold much longer for upcoming games if you care about graphics.

The card you started with is a better card.
i found this : XFX Radeon HD 7850 1GB Video Card (FX-785A-ZNFC) - PCPartPicker
it's a XFX 7850. it's about 16 bucks cheaper then your chosen XFX 6870 and a little faster as well.

so if you are choosing the I3-3220 and the XFX 7850 you are actually saving about 12 bucks (from your original build) AND you are getting a build with a little more overall performance at the same time.

here you can clearly see what i mean:
AMD Radeon HD 7850 and 7870 review - DX11: Battlefield Bad Company 2

here you can again see that the 7770 is not that great of a card and again are being beaten by the 6870.
Also you can see here that the card i suggested are doing a better job then the 6870.
guru3d is an amazing site. they are very good at lining up a bunch of different cards so you can easily see how they perform next to each other.
