(Win 8) system builder or home premium ?

What is OEM system builder and how is it different than "home premium(the more expensive version )?

if i build a comp is it ok to use OEM system builder ?

Sorry, don't know the difference, but if you're using a desktop I'd recommend Win 7 and skip Win 8 for now.

I think you're using the wrong description for these 2 versions of Windows 8.

They are both Windows 8 Home Premium. The more expensive, is generally referred to as the "Retail Version". The less expensive is the O.E.M. or "System Builders" version, which is less expensive, because it is designed to be used only on the computer originally built for it's install, and the builder of that computer is responsible for any tech. support.

The full retail version can be installed on any computer, as long as it's only one machine at a time, and Microsoft will provide limited tech. support. Other than that they are identical.

And, I also agree to stay away from Win8, and go with Win7.

system builder version I think you have to purchase a piece of hardware to get it too.
they might have changed that but that's how it used to be.
it can be a mouse or a hard drive.

and it doesn't come in any retail packaging or any kind of documentation (manuals).
