upgrade to 64 bit

I doubt it, since you cannot upgrade a 32bit to 64bit in Vista or Win7. You'd most likely require a complete install from a 64bit disk. Why not just Google your question?

Also, make sure that your hardware was designed for 64bit, or you'll be wasting your money.

It's not possible. The core is too drastically different and will require a full reinstall.

Didn't realize I put xp premium, meant to put Vista home premium 32 bit is what I currently have installed on my laptop. (sorry) I am going to purchase a 64 bit ultimate vista version and do a clean install. Any other considerations to take into account?? 64 bit drivers etc, processor speed, etc.... Thank you.

Snappy was just bustin' your onions, ha!

Why not Windows 7.....it's a hellova lot better than Vista. Still don't know what hardware you have. Make sure it will support 64bit.

When I first upgraded from XP to Vista, I hated it, but now I use Windows 7 it is heaps better than vista..
