Connection stops

Hi,

I have cable internet on my hp pavilion dv6000 and connection often stops. Then I have to unplug the cable and insert it again to get internet back. What might be the problem? I know it is not because of the service and cable is new, so the problem is probably caused by computer.

Just because the cable is new doesn't mean it can't be the problem.

That said I'd have to to agree that it's likely not the cable. I'd go to HP's website and download the latest drivers for your network card and see how that helps.

Just because its new doesn't mean its working perfectly, so could be the cable modem. Does it always drop the connection after the same amount of time? Some systems have to set "always on", or words to that effect. Could be the ISP's problem and not your system. I'd have the installer back out to troubleshoot your issue.
