Computer want Boot

I have a Compaq computer with XP installed. It want boot. It says starting windows, but nothing happens. What could be the problem?

When you ask for help/advise, you need to post your complete system specs.

Your boot issues could be many things,....memory, hard drive, corrupted OS, etc.

^^^ Agree please post your system specs, I won't be able to help you without basic system infomation.

I need the CPU, Memory, HDD and motherboard & OS details and I can go from there.

Did this just happen all of a sudden?
