Blu-Ray Player question

Do any of them play SD memory cards?

??? I'm not trying to be a wise ass, I really just don't understand ???

How could you hope to "play" an SD card on an Optical Drive???

Is this a joke???

My friend suggested it may be able to play movies from the SD card. Here's the setup: it has a USB port and my tv isn't HDTV. Are there any attachments for the player that would let the player play what's recorded on the card?

Oh, I see what you mean now.

I haven't heard of this before, why not just Google it?

I did Google it, but the info is confusing to me.

This won't be much help but a few mins on google and I came up with this:
1. It depends on the blu-ray player and what formats it will play and what formats are on the card.
2. There are SD to USB adapters (I have one that I use for my digital camera card).

So basically you could by the adapter, put it in, only to find out the player won't recoginize or won't play it that way....it's seems like it might be a crap-shoot as to whether it will work or not.
