Hello all,

On my windows XP computer I thought about installing windows 2003 server just to have practice while going through my course online. I started the install then I changed my mind because I realized that my configurations, files, and settings may change so I quit the install. Now when I go to start my computer, it constantly asks for either my XP or Win Server 2003 cd in order to proceed to the desktop and if I don't choose, it attempts to reinstall of the operating systems. How can I get back to my original normal start or do i have to now go back through the reinstall process? I tried F8 last known good config but that doesn't work.

Boot from your XP install disk and do a Repair. It may repair boot manager to make it look like you never attempted to install Server 2003, don't know for sure. What happened is that Win Server 2003 added its boot manager and then you stopped the install. That's why you are being asked to pick which OS to start/repair/install.
