Hi Cyberville,

What do you people think what software every new computer should have, OTHER THEN anti-virus and anti-malware and drivers.
(just a format and plain Windows install no other pre-installed software)

I.E

K-Lite Mega, uTorrent (legal stuff) etc...

Ya Formatting! :trash:LOL

When I install a new os for people.

I automatically put on:
Startupcop (very old free version from Pc Magazine)
cCleaner
Malwarebytes
Microsoft Security Essentials.
OpenOffice
Google Chrome
cutepdf
NitroPDF reader
PSpad
Windows Updates.
I then clean it up and shut it down. Then call the people and tell them their computer is ready.

Thanks, I love formatting new computers, saves time uninstalling un-needed pre-installed software I.E Acer e-Management, I f!@#'n hate those apps, they are nothting but malware and disk space munchers.

Depending on how many times you set up computers. I have set up computers. Put the basic programs on.

Resealed the os and shut down. Made an image.
Then on the new computers I would simply load the image and boot it up.. The computer would then go through the cd key and set up. Once at the desktop, all your programs are there. Faster too. Only problem is the longer you hold on to that image. The more out of date the softwares get.

Include a full version of microsoft office.

I know somebody who did that, sent out pirated unpaid for copies.

Microsoft caught him :\

On another note, this is what I do, and the order I do it!

On XP Machines:

Install OS
Install SP3
Install IE8
Update/Install drivers
Start the downloads of windows updates, while this is happening, I install Nero, PowerDVD (if PC has a DVD-RW)
These installations should complete before the updates finish downloading and start installing. (If the updates install at the same time as programs it fucks up)
Let updates complete
Go to ninite.com - Pick Flash (IE), Adobe Reader, OpenOffice, AVG (or MSE) - AVG has just brought out 2013 and ninite has not updated it so I do it manually atm. - Download the installer, and let it all run through, programs will be installed.
Finish updates (Takes aaaaaaaages)
Clean PC using Isopropyl, and WD40 if necessary.
Send out.

Vista/7

Install OS
Install SPs as necessary as standalones.
Install IE9
Install Adobe Reader, Flash, Open Office and AVG from ninite.com
Updates (even longer than XP ._____________.)

Update OS
Update Drivers
Install Browsers (for me Google Chrome is the best)
Adobe Flash Player
Adobe Reader
Adobe Shockwave Player
VLC
Adobe AIR
Open Office or MS office
Advance System Care
