I've got a sony vaio k23 with (another) bad motherboard.
Since this is going to be the 13th(actual) time completely ripping it apart, I thought I would do some upgrades while I'm in there.
I was looking to upgrade a pos 370 system when I stumbled onto the mobile celeron specs at wikipedia, the tualatins are socket 478 mobile. Knowing that a 1.4 PIII has the same benchmark as a P4 2.66, I think it would be better going with a 1.33ghz PIII based celly than a 1.4ghz P4, plus there's over 6 watts lower power consumption, down to 19 watts! XD
I do have some questions about this though.
-Are there any other boards that will magically fit this laptop? the stock boards with the 345m don't like linux much, and i definitely like the idea of maybe a amd processor or a pentium m :F
-Does this processor actually work with P4 based 478 boards? Its FSB is only 133 or 266mhz (ill update that if i buy it)
-Last question, does anyone make low voltage ddr(1) ram?
