HP Media Center PC m7367c sound card unrecognized after OS Re-install

I just re-installed the operating system on my grandpa's computer (Windows XP Pro) and for some reason Windows doesn't seem to recognize the sound card anymore. The card is a Realtek ALC 882. I downloaded the drivers for the card and installed them, but it still doesn't see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Right click 'my computer'

Hardware tab> Device Manager> See any items with yellow exclamation marks etc next to them?

I see it. It says "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"

Double click it, a window should pop up, go into the details tab. in the drop down menu, change it to 'Hardware IDs'


Copy the top one or the second from top number hat appears, highlight it by clicking it, Ctrl and C to copy it.

Copy and paste it here, also, try searching in google, it may give you an idea of what driver it should be.

Do not download the driver from any of these 'driver identifier' websites, just use them as reference to see what it is.

I just downloaded another driver from hp (Realtek CL882), restarted the computer and it STILL doesn't recognize the sound card! WHAT DO I DO?!?!

It's ALC 882 not CL 882. Sorry for the typo!
