I Need Help to understand Raid Better. It's new to me.

Does configuring raid will make me lose all my data?
Does configuring raid will corrupt my pc?
DO i need at least two harddisk to configure raid?
What if I only have one harddisk and partition into 2 drives. Can I configure raid?
Do I need to install operating system first before I can configure raid?
Do i need to install operating system if I want to configure hardware raid?
Can I setup Raid after I install my operating system?
Do I need drivers for hardware Raid?
DO I need drivers to setup software raid?
Is there any drivers for raid?
Every PC has different Graphic cards. However, if i want to configure raid, are they the same way of doing it?
Is it the same way of configuring raid if the hard drive is either sata or ide?
What Do I need if i want to configure hardware raid?
What do I need if I want to configure software raid?
Is there any problem I will faced after configuring raid?
how do I test if my raid is successful?

thanks.

To answer a few of your questions:

If you already have data on the drives before setting up RAID, it will get lost.

Configuring RAID doesn't corrupt your PC.

Yes, you need at least two physical disks for RAID. Having one drive with 2 partitions will not work.

With hardware RAID, you configure it first before installing the operating system, you may need drivers. It all depends on the manufacturer of the RAID controller and the operating system.

Graphics cards have nothing to do with RAID.

Nobody uses IDE anymore but the process is similar.

You need a RAID controller and at least two physical disks to set up RAID.

There are a lot of things that can go wrong when using RAID. It depends on what RAID level you choose. The biggest problem is one of the drives in the array failing.
