Hi, I am planning on building a computer but I want to get some experienced people's opinions before i know exactly what I'm going to purchase.
Please feel free to criticize and give me suggestions because this is going to be my first build.
All of the items that I'm looking at are on newegg.com.
I picked these because i heard of the scorpious platform, although i do not know if that would be the best bang for my buck(what do you guys think?). In the fields where I posted 2 links I'm not sure which one would be better or work in the scorpious platform.

Case+powersupply= Im not sure how to pick these

Motherboard= Newegg.com - ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Newegg.com - ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

CPU= Newegg.com - AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX

RAM= Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

HDD= Newegg.com - Refurbished: Western Digital Caviar Blue RFHWD3200AAJS 320GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

GPU= Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (100315-2GL )
Newegg.com - HIS IceQ X H687QN1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Soundcard? not sure if needed.

Budget of $800

Thanks in advance for the help. (feel free to suggest parts that i did not link to as well)

Forget about sound card for now. You can think about audio enhancement after you have your machine built. :)

That chip naively supports DDR3-1866. Using 1600 RAM might be a bottleneck.

You can use this calculator to determine how much power supply you need.
eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

Don't cheap out on a case. You want something that will provide good airflow and be sturdy. If you're on a budget, the Antec 300 is worth looking at.

Thank you guys for helping!

so i ended up choosing these 3
case= Newegg.com - Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

psu= Newegg.com - Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

RAM= Newegg.com - G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

what I'm not sure of now is the GPU and the Mobo. If i get the Asus mobo i posted in my op will i get the scorpius platform? and is there little to no difference in the gpu's? Oh and I'm not sure if the PSU is overkill cause the calculator websites didn't help because they are just stuck at 34w.
