FX-6100 or FX-4170

Which would be better for general use and a mild amount of gaming, the 6 core AMD FX-6100 or the faster clocked 4 core FX-4170? I don't do any video encoding and the likes, so I'm leaning towards the four core, but I'd like to hear your opinion.
