About DVD Copy

If you want to copy a DVD movie, you should first check if it is a DVD5 or DVD9. The main difference between the two is that a DVD5 takes up lesser space than 4.7 GB, which is actually 4.38 GB in Windows, meaning you can make a full copy of a DVD5 movie on a 4.7 GB blank DVD. You cannot, however, do the same for a DVD 9 since it takes more space than that.
If you want to copy a DVD9, you can copy the full movie (Option A) to an 8.5 GB blank DVD which can either be DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL. However, users usually experience some problems with the DVD-R DL because it is not compatible with all DVD burners or players, plus, it is more expensive than DVD+R DL. If you opt to use a 4.7 GB blank DVD for you DVD9 movie, you can do so minus subtitles and other features so you will be left with the main movie alone (Option B) but there are main movies that could
take up more than 4.7 GB. Another option is to split the movie into two 4.7 GB blank DVDs so that the beginning of the movie and other menus will be copied on Disk 1 and the rest on Disk 2 (Option C). As a final option, if your DVD is episodic you can just copy your preferred episodes only (Option D).
Option A: Full disc copy. Place the DVD movie into the DVD-ROM drive then place the blank DVD on the DVD burner. If you do not have a DVD burner, just replace the DVD movie with the blank DVD after the DVD drive has finished the reading the movie. Then select the "Full Disc" option and click "Start" to begin copying the movie.
Option B: Main Movie Copy. Place the DVD movie into the DVD-ROM drive then place the blank 4.7 GB DVD in the DVD burner. If you do not have a DVD burner, just replace the DVD movie with the blank DVD after the DVD drive has finished the reading the movie. Then select the "Main movie" option and wait for the new window as shown below to pop up. Choose the appropriate title from the "Program to Copy" dropdown list. In order not to copy a fake main movie, you must first play the DVD movie in a DVD player and take note of the title number of the main movie. You should choose this title number from the title number listed in the "Program to Copy" option. Choose the audios and subtitles
you prefer to go with the movie then click "OK" to go back to the main window. Click "Start" to begin copying the movie. Remember that you cannot copy a main movie which is more than 4.3 GB to a 4.7 GB blank movie without compressing it.
Option C: Split DVD9 to 2 DVDs. Place the DVD movie into the DVD-ROM drive then place the blank 4.7 GB DVD in the DVD burner. If you do not have a DVD burner, just replace the DVD movie with the blank DVD after the DVD drive has finished the reading the movie. Then select the "DVD9 to 2 DVD5" option and click "Start" to begin copying the movie. When the Disc 1 is full it will be ejected and a new window as shown below will pop up. You should then place another 4.7 GB blank DVD into your DVD burner and
select the "OK" option on the pop up window.
Option D: Preferred episodes copy. Place the DVD movie into the DVD-ROM drive then place the blank 4.7 GB DVD in the DVD burner. If you do not have a DVD burner, just replace the DVD movie with the blank DVD after the DVD drive has finished the reading the movie. Then select the "Custom" option and wait for the new window as shown below to pop up. Choose the audios and subtitles you prefer to go with the movie then click "OK" to go back to the main window. Click "Start" to begin copying the preferred episodes. Remember that you cannot copy the episodes which are more than 4.3 GB to a 4.7 GB blank movie without compressing it. In this case, you can opt to split the preferred episodes into two discs.
