Second Monitor

Ere us something that does not make any sence. I added a external monitor on my EMACHINE laptop computer. The monitor works fine during the boot up. Then the monitor does not show anything after the sign on screen appeared on laptop screen. Now when I change the settings like the screen resolution added on monitor does act like it receives the new settings still nothing shows up on the screen.

The screen looks like when the monitor is shut off.

Any idea why this would happen?

I'm using Windows XP Professional.

I never thought of that. I just changed the settings in the control panel. Let me check the function keys.

All the function keys did was to take the display off the the original computer screen. The added on screen did nothing.

Yes because I see the boot up screen fine on the second monitor.

Try lowering the resolution of the second screen in the display settings.
