If you're tight on cash, just get the Chilton's. I had both for an '83 Camaro I used to have and the Chilton's was a far superior manual. A lot of useful information was omitted from the Haynes manual.

On the other hand, I have had both Chilton's and Haynes for a vehicle ('93 Chevy S-10, IIRC), and needed both in order to get certain things done-- the Chilton's was plain wrong on some things, especially since they (both, actually) tend to lump several year/models into one book.

Or you could just make friends with a mechanic and pick his brain whenever you have a car problem.
