Dell Touchpad wont work properly when the laptop is plugged into the wall ???????????

Hi, i have a dell inspiron 1545 and just reinstalled vista onto it as there was a software corruption so i needed to do a clean install.

Meanwhile i had my power cable fail on me so i ordered another which im using now.

The problem is when the laptop is plugged in and charging. The touchpad works fine on the battery but as soon as you plug the laptop in to charge the touchpad is no longer smooth and does not always track your finger movements.

I have installed the latest drivers and software which has not helped.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Update : Just ran hyrans boot cd and the touch-pad is still playing up when plugged in.

Take the battery out when it's plugged in and see what happens.

No, does not help, I have ordered another charger, this time a genuine one. I shall return the one I have now. If that dont fix it I shall just have to use a mouse
