Hi all,

how everyone can update data to an excel file during many users opening at the same time. SERVER is using windows server 2008 R2 for file server with permission by domain controller. client computer is using windows xp, windows 7

please teach me.

You can't write to an excel file that is open by another computer. The reason is because there is no database functions in excel. You will need to purchase Microsoft access and find a programmer like myself which I don't charge much, for a simple data sheet for an office can be set up from 300$$ to 2000$$ depending on functions. If I were to program it for you, people will have an access form that is designed by the office manager owner to input data as needed. Then a link is provided to an excel sheet to view the data that I program the database to output to. This would cost 450$$ but it gives the manager complete control over data and prevents book cooking if you catch my drift.
