I just bought a new mobo and cpu. I got the Gigabyte GA 990XA and I am upgrading from the 790FX-GD70 and also I have a 965BE and upping to a 1090T. Will I have to reinstall windows when I make the swap? I really don't want to because I downloaded it off there site. I suppose I still have the ISO from them but don't really want to deal with it and really like my stuff the way it is now. So I was just wondering if I could just make the switch and then start my OC journey right away?

Thanks

To be frank, it's a gamble. However, since they are not the same chipset and you're using either IDE or AHCI for the SATA mode, then you'd probably might not have a problem, but chances are still present that it might not work, but I have a good feeling, however I might be wrong.

You might be able to get away without reinstalling Windows. At the very least, you should boot into safe mode and uninstall all of the old motherboard drivers.
