My pleasure. None of the partition managers, e.g. the free gparted, could add space to or move drive C. The unallocated space was next to drive D. I could not move drive C next to the unallocated space. However, the secret was to move Drive D, not C. Then the space was able to be added to C.

Exactly, a partition can only be allocated a "straight line" partition and can't be extended at the end of other partitions.
