FTP Question

Hi all

Not certain if this applies to this forum but I was wondering if it is possible to run a FTP server alongside my main computer and access said FTP with the http://localhost. I have installed IIS.

The reason is that at college we are creating a login system and was wondering if there is any way that I could work on it at home

yes, first you will need to port forward so you can access it from the internet. all you will need then is a static ip so you can access it form the internet like so from the browser. ftp://120.xxx.xxx.xxx:21 .

Wouldn't a ftp server program like filezilla work using the 127.1.1.1, which is what the localhost is assigned to?

if your trying to access from the pc the software is installed on you can access from local host ftp://127.0.0.1:21
