i have built myself a new computer

Processor: amd Fx 8120
motherboard; 970a-d3 Gigabyte
Graphics card: 550Ti Gigabyte
8GB ram
2 TB hard drive

since i built this just before Christmas i have been getting crc errors while trying extract things like rar files. I have reinstalled windows also have run stress tests on my computer and memory tests and it had no problems.

any one got any ideas why i am getting these errors

there might be some software complications.
try starting in safe mode, and see if you get any CRC errors while extracting the rar file.
i did reed about some driver making those CRC errors show up. so a safe mode will eliminate the possibility.

might also be due to an unstable version of windows. do you use an early cracked build of windows? if so. buy the real deal. (or get a newer build some other way)

i have a legit copy of windows and tried with 2 discs. my legit one and my mates that he has used countless times and has had no problems with it

A quick google search mentions checking the firewall software you are using (and turning it off while unzipping the file).

Also saw a post where running chkdsk /r fixed this problem.

Is the drive formatted as NTFS or FAT32? Sounds like NTFS is the better option.
