Im looking at some net christmas lights and the listing says 2m X 3m, now does that mean 2m is the length _________________________________ and 3m is the height | or the other way round ?

Distance from one side to the opposite side. Not around the circle, but straight through.

When I measure something I tend to go across then height, so I would see the net lights as 2m across the window by 3m down ?

Are we still talking about Christmas lights?

Construction measuring standards are LxWxH...

A Window is only measured WxH.

A Christmas light should be measured Diameter X Length. You can think of Diameter as Width, how thick the light bulb is.

Does that help?

It was "net" lighting so it was really like measuring a square so diameter doesn't come into play.
But agreed that it would be W x H.
