Collision/Broadcast domains question.

I just read and learned about both of these, I was wondering if the Switches/Routers automatically configure the domains for you, or do you have to set it up yourself through the router. Any help would be great. Thanks.

every port on a switch is it's own collision domain, and every port on a router is it's own collision domain. Due to how switches work, this is the default setting. Since switches sent from one host to another, rather than from one host to all other hosts (like a hub or signal repeater). I think you can configure broadcast domain settings on most domestic and commercial routers.

OK cool I wasnt sure. The book went over it but didnt get into great detail on whether it was something the IT admin had to configure. Thanks!
