Mixing IDE and SATA hard drives

My mobo can support both. I currently have an IDE attached. I'm going to install my SATA one today. Do I need to change the jumpers on the back of the IDE to make it a slave drive if I want my SATA to be the primary drive? If I do need to change the jumpers, do I also need to change the BIOS settings?

You shouldn't need to switch pins, just make sure the boot order starts with the SATA drive
