Frame rate issues

Hello, this is my first post here so I hope this is the right section. Anyways, I recently got a new computer with decent specs. I can run most games fine, but it seems like I have a lot of frame rate problems. For instance, Day of Defeat source gives me trouble and I can't really enjoy playing it because of the frame rate problems. Same with Fallen Earth. But I can run other games with no problem. Battle field 3 beta on low specs worked better than Day of Defeat, for example. Also, I have problems running games like Club penguin or flash games on Kongregate or Mochi games. Start > Run (or windows key +"R") and type msconfig, click OK.

Disable everything under the startup tab. Click apply/close at the bottom, restart.

Try games again. if issue persists, get Crappy PC No More! | The PC Decrapifier and run it. Complete as much of it as you can. Reboot, try again.

The system seems to be fine spec-wise, also it doesn't hurt to check for updated drivers for your video card.

FYI DxDiag is useless to us here for the most part. use Speccy - System Information - Free Download instead and post the text report instead. (File > Save Text Report)
 
Hmm okay I will try that stuff when I'm able to. I have uptated the drivers recently, so that's ruled out. Thanks for the reply, I'll let you know how all that goes within the next day or two.
 
Okay what info would you like from the text report? It's quite a lot and I know you don't need me to post ALL of it haha.
 
That DXDiag doesn't list the graphics card on your system?

The graphics card is the most important aspect of a gaming system, and so may be a reason why you are only able to run at low settings, with some games running slower than other if its for example a motherboard spec card.

Some games just push more than others, and is probably again why you are having issues running games even in low settings compared to other ones.
 
Yeah it does, I guess I had it in my mind that what I posted gave that information. My bad, I'll post it when I get home.

The cards that are in those HP desktops are not very good. I would recommend you upgrade to an actual desktop gaming card. More than likely, you will need to upgrade your power supply too.
 
*facepalm* Why do people still rely on the archaic DXDiag output? It doesn't include the WHOLE PICTURE like Speccy does, and to answer the question, a Speccy log only needs the first set of data from the hardware, just before "Operating System" (because it WILL list the serial number). Dxdiag is nice for cases of listing the actual GPU RAM amount and free RAM, but other than that... Speccy is king.
