Hard Drives Not Showing Up on Newly Built PC

Are you trying to install Windows XP? If so, you need to provide the SATA drivers upon installation in order to detect the hard drive. Otherwise, I'd check to make sure all the settings in the BIOS are set correctly, if you've messed with settings already try resetting to Optimized/Fail-Safe settings.
Im trying to install windows 7. Where can I get the drivers? Maybe I still need them? I haven't messed with any settings. I've had it go to optimized settings anyway and that doesn't do anythings. Btw the x drive I was talking about wasn't my hard drive.

Yes and yes. I stated in te original post I had tried two hard drives. I have tried multiple cables and ports, including the ones that work with my sata cd/dvd drive.

What are the ports set to in BIOS? Are the set to RAID, AHCI, Legacy (or IDE)? Assuming you don't plan on raiding the disks, try switching to legacy and see if that helps anything.
