Please Help, Hard Drive Problems

Hi all,

I have a problem with an HDD Installation. I have a HP Compaq Persario A900 Notebook. I have had to put in a new HDD, (Samsung 160gb SATA 2.5 HDD) But when trying to load the recovery disk purchased from HP the HDD is only showing 32gb. where the old HDD showed 32gb for operating system and the rest for storage like films, pics etc. can anyone help please.

Have you talked to HP about it? Companies usually mess with the recovery disks to set it back to factory settings. Where are you reading that there is only 32 gb? It could be that they have set it back to factory settings but you didn't partition it properly or it's there and you just don't have access to it somehow. HP should have better knowledge about that disk and whether or not the HDD you bought is fully compatible with your laptop
