While money may be no serious issue, do you really want to build a Cadillac (I guess that phase does not mean as much these days - substitute Rolls Royce) or a resonably price but high performance system - say a Corvette - where most of the money goes to performance? And to you want just outstanding perfomrance or all the bells and whistles? Are you ready to devote the last 30% of the cost for just a 5% increase in performance?
But first back to the basics:
What applications do you use and what games do you play?
What settings do you want to be able to play?
What is your target budget level?
I agree that it might be worth waiting for the LGA2011 socket platform.
The choice of case is pretty much a personal one of style after ensuring it has the size you need and provides for good air flow. I recommend just going to newegg and scrolling through the pictures first to see what you like. Newegg has the best navigation and information of any vendor site - one reason they are used so much. Just go to this page and scroll throgh them. You might use the price selector to get cases in the $100 - $300 range which will limit the options to about 150 case or 5 pages. Once you find the style you like - you can search on Google for reviews. Or just post here and ask and people can tell you if it is a good case -airflow and otherwise - or recommend better options in your style:
Newegg.com - Computer Cases, ATX Computer Cases
Of course you could also look at whatever online sites you can buy from - or better yet just check them out in person at a good video store with a large supply of cases - if you have any close.
To learn a little more about video card selection, I recommend this site that has a lot of good information about selecting video cards and links to some excellent resources
