I'm considering buying a used computer from a buddy of mine. It's within a year old and I will be getting a 40% discount. Here are the specs:

2,8 GHz AMD Phenom XII X6 (Hex core) 1055T

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus

Gigabyte GA-M770T-UD3P

6 GB Corsair 1333 MHz DDR3

1000 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 240

DVD

750W Energon power supply

CoolerMaster Elite 335

I mainly use computer to run video games. Would this computer run video games smoothly? :)

Why in the world are people buying AMD systems with 6GB of RAM? That suggests an uneven distribution of memory which adds to the strain of the memory controller. Not a big deal in the short term, but AMD systems (and LGA 1155 systems for Intel) should be shipping with evenly matched RAM amounts (2, 4, 8GB, etc)

You need to fix the ram, junk that power supply for a real one (since I wouldn't trust my components with an Energon if it was paid and full and given to me free), and possibly look into upgrading the video card.

I am not the specialist on NVidia video cards though, so I cannot give any recommendations without sounding biased to my own preferences. The other two if you need help, you have only to ask :)
