hdd about to fail

need help to restore a hdd. looking for something to retrieve my data about to lose almost 500gb of data.when i run scandisk it gets to about 50% stops ran it for 12 hours and it stuck on 48%.

You could get an enclosure to put your failing hdd in and connect it via usb and transfer the data over. Or you can also get a sata to usb adapter and do the same thing.

it was a mybook and i took the drive out it runs fast bet still has problems.i want to save it all but im having to pick and chose. i had a laptop i was working on a while back and the hdd was failing to no repair scan-disk got so far and froze im thinking that's what going to happen to this one.
